AI Model Overview

InFlightAI’s Vehicle Identification model uses AI-powered OCR and computer vision to read license plates and vehicle identification numbers. It supports access control, tracking, and audit workflows across facilities.

OCR reads plate and VIN characters, then matches them against your records. You define which regions of the image are read, so the model targets the plate or VIN rather than the whole vehicle. US plate formats are covered today, with additional formats added as customers need them.

Which vehicle entered, when, and whether it was expected are all confirmed on the pass. Plate and VIN match against your records, so access control doesn’t rely on a manual gate log.

Vehicle Identification (LPR & VIN) is a physical security patrol model, currently deployed across industries like Electric Utilities, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Logistics, Power Generation, Nuclear and Mining. Detections are returned after the flight has landed, once imagery and waypoint data have been synced to the platform. The model is ready from day one, with no site-specific configuration required.
