InFlightAI Computer Vision Model
Smoke Detection
AI Model Overview
InFlightAI’s Smoke Detection model uses computer vision AI to identify visible smoke in industrial and outdoor environments. It enables early warning of fire-related incidents and supports rapid response to reduce damage and safety risks.
Smoke is identified by its texture and diffusion pattern rather than by color alone, which lets the model separate it from steam, dust and cloud.
Smoke is visually confirmed in open areas that point detectors can’t reach. The gap between ignition and response shortens across yards, storage and outdoor process areas.
How It Works
Smoke Detection returns bounding box output. It identifies visible smoke in industrial environments and across open outdoor areas.
Smoke Detection is a physical security patrol model, currently deployed across industries like Electric Utilities, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Logistics, Power Generation, Nuclear and Mining. Detections are returned after the flight has landed, once imagery and waypoint data have been synced to the platform. The model is ready from day one, with no site-specific configuration required.
