InFlightAI Computer Vision Model
Powerline Wire Status
AI Model Overview
InFlightAI’s Powerline Wire Status model uses computer vision AI to monitor the condition of overhead wires. It detects sagging, breaks, and abnormal positioning, helping identify safety risks and maintain system integrity across transmission and distribution networks.
Conductor position is traced across the span and compared against expected geometry, so sag, breaks and displacement are flagged by deviation rather than by absolute measurement.
Sag, breaks and abnormal positioning are caught between scheduled patrols. Severity ranking sends crews to the span that will fail rather than the next one on the list.
How It Works
Powerline Wire Status returns segmentation mask output. It identifies sagging conductors, broken or downed wires, and abnormal wire positioning.
Powerline Wire Status is an asset maintenance model, currently deployed across industries like Electric Utilities and Power Generation. Detections are returned after the flight has landed, once imagery and waypoint data have been synced to the platform. The model is ready from day one, with no site-specific configuration required.
