InFlightAI Computer Vision Model
Corrosion Detection
AI Model Overview
InFlightAI’s Corrosion Detection model uses computer vision AI to identify rust, oxidation, and material degradation on equipment and infrastructure. It enables early intervention and extends asset lifespan by supporting proactive maintenance strategies.
Rust and oxidation are identified by their color and texture signature against the surrounding surface. The model is configured to your asset types and finishes during onboarding, so normal weathering and discoloration aren’t flagged as corrosion.
Rust and material loss surface while the fix is still a coating repair rather than a replacement. Each detection carries a location and a severity, which gives maintenance planners something concrete to schedule against instead of a general concern.
How It Works
Corrosion Detection returns segmentation mask output. It identifies rust and oxidation on metal surfaces along with material degradation and surface loss, marking the affected areas across equipment and infrastructure.
Corrosion Detection is an asset maintenance model, currently deployed across industries like Electric Utilities, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Logistics, Power Generation, Nuclear and Mining. Detections are returned after the flight has landed, once imagery and waypoint data have been synced to the platform. The model is configured to the assets and environments at your site during onboarding, and is ready for use within thirty days.
